Treating acne scarring is a very tricky thing to do. At Vanilla Sugar Face & Body we have years of experience with this. Scars are a painful reminder that dealing with breakouts for years is a difficult thing. There are many different types of scars: boxed, pitted, divot, raised or keloids. When working with our clients on scaring, we will often educate them on the different types.
Our goal is to first get your breakouts under control. This is done with the use of a proper home care routine and regular treatments with one of our estheticians. The scars that we first work with are the red/brown spots the are left over from breakouts. We call this Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation. We can never fully reverse this, but we can help minimize this type of scarring in multiple ways. The first is through proper home care products that include special acids that help lighten the skin on their own. We then would recommend a series a of microdermabrasion and/or peels to even out the tone and texture of the skin.
Time: 30 minutes
This is a mini-version of the full hour. It is results oriented without the extra "fluff". This treatment begins with a cleanse, microdermabrasion exfoliation, and completed with a mask or enzyme for your skin type. We really recommend this option for those who really need corrective work. We like to say "we get to the point". As licensed skin professionals, we will always inform you of what we feel is right for your skin.

Chemical peels are wonderful for rejuvenating the skin. Our Peoria Acne Specialists at Vanilla Sugar Face & Body offers medical grade chemical peels for acne. Chemical peels can also aid in acne scar removal and evening out acne scars. They might cause some actual peeling of the skin, leaving brand new, beautiful, glowing skin. Chemical peels should be performed about every 2-3 weeks with better results achieved with each consecutive peel.
