Do you want to be a top earner in our industry? Want to know What it is like as an esthetician at Vanilla Sugar?

Before we give you the details of what it is like working at our spa, we wanted to introduce ourselves first. Vanilla Sugar Face & Body was founded by Navy Veteran Liz Steffen back in 2013. She has 20 years of leadership, industry experience and she built this business in a way that sets us apart from other spa’s. Her main focus with building a team is to ensure the success of every team member with advanced education, coaching, encouragement and an amazingly fun environment. We laugh all the time at the spa because we WANT to have fun where we work. We also work as a team and very hard. We consider it an honor to serve our clients and team mates. If this sounds like the kind of place you want to work then please keep on reading.

ABOUT THE JOB POSITION

If and when we are looking for a full time Esthetician, we consider full time anywhere between 30-35 hours a week. Yeah, full time is less than 40 hours and we actually encourage that a little because we don’t want to burn you out. Our job can be very physical and we are around A LOT of people every day. When fully booked at our spa, you may see anywhere between 10-15+ clients a day. That’s a lot of hustling.

We have an incredible on-boarding process when you first start with us. We will NEVER throw you into the treatment room and say go. If you haven’t noticed we have a 5-star review over many different social media platforms and we’ve achieved that through our stellar on-boarding systems. We consider this period a minimum of 90 days and usually lasts 6 months or longer, depending on your natural abilities to learn advanced techniques and team playing. You will learn how we run everything from the back office to some of our most popular services we want you to perform when you first start taking on clients. Our clients expect the best from our Estheticians and we will train and continue to train you to be the very best. Even after 20 years of experience, Liz still travels the world learning from the top educators. There is always more to learn. So, in your first 3-6 months you will most likely not see any clients. You will learn the services and practice, practice, practice! You will also be expected to learn & work our front desk reception position. This is essential to know on many levels. You will also gain skills outside being an Esthetician because if you ever had an injury, we want to make sure that you can still stay employed with our company and have further career opportunities. Depending on the needs of the company and your skill set, the 6 months may be extended longer. We like to be very upfront about this. The world changes so fast (hello Covid-19) and we want to ensure your success with your skill level. Every person is different and may require a different approach to mentoring and skill development.

Okay, we know that was a lot of information. It’s not a normal career opportunity posting but we aren’t a normal spa company to work for either.

If you are still interested in working at a friendly and crazy busy spa in Peoria, Illinois then please submit a resume and cover letter to Brandi, our Spa Manager at info@vanillasugarfaceandbody.com. Also, tell us about yourself in the email. This is the time to shine and we are looking for personable people to work with us.

We will be in touch shortly after we receive your resume and cover letter. If you do not hear from us, please re-submit within 1 week.

One more thing, we are particularly fussy about spelling, grammar and attention to detail. This means if your resume isn’t polished, it won’t get a second look. We also expect a polished appearance everyday you show up to work. We also have a very strict no-phone policy at work for safety and legal reasons. If you can’t be separated from your phone, then we aren’t the place you want to work.
