Questions & Answers
Head Spa FAQ
Head spas are new to Peoria, so most people arrive with questions. Here are the ones we are asked most often, answered honestly.
The Treatment
Everything You Might Wonder
If your question isn't answered here, call or text us on (309) 219-1140 and we will talk it through.
What makes your head spa different from a regular scalp massage?
A regular scalp massage feels lovely but it stops at the surface. Ours is a clinical-grade treatment that combines exfoliation, detoxification, hydration and massage in one session, so it is designed to support both relaxation and genuine scalp transformation.
Will this affect my hair color?
Yes, and that is exactly why timing matters. Our detoxifying scalp formulas pull out mineral buildup, and they will pull out color along with it. We recommend booking one to two weeks before your next color service so your colorist is working on a clean, detoxed scalp.
How often should I get a head spa?
For moderate to severe scalp issues we recommend a series of three treatments spaced weekly or biweekly. After that, a maintenance visit once a month keeps your scalp and hair in good condition.
Who is this treatment for?
Anyone dealing with dryness, flakes, itchiness or excess oil production. It also suits clients prepping for hair color, anyone concerned about thinning hair, and people who simply want a genuinely luxurious hour of self-care.
What should I do at home?
We will recommend a customized scalp care regimen using professional-grade products. Homecare is what carries the benefits of your treatment through to the next one, so it matters more than people expect.
Do I have to get a blow dry?
Not at all. You are welcome to leave with damp hair if you prefer. If you have somewhere to be afterwards or want the polished finish, we offer a blow dry as an optional add-on for $35.
Is a head spa the same as getting my hair washed?
No. The focus is your scalp rather than your hair. We analyze the scalp first, then exfoliate, steam, treat and massage it. Your hair benefits as a result, but it is not the point of the treatment.
Will it help with thinning hair?
A healthy scalp is the foundation for healthy hair, and clients concerned about thinning are among those we see most. Bring it up at your consultation and we will tell you honestly what to expect.
How long does the appointment take?
The full clinical head spa is 75 minutes. Add-ons such as the leave-in scalp treatment or a blow dry take a little longer, so mention them when you book.
The One to Get Right
Timing Around Hair Color
This is the question we get asked most, and the answer genuinely affects your results.
Our detoxifying scalp formulas pull out mineral buildup, and they will pull out color along with it. That is not a flaw, it is exactly how the detox works.
So book your head spa one to two weeks before your next color service. Your colorist is then working on a clean, detoxed scalp, pigment takes more evenly, and you may find your color lasts longer than usual.
Mention your color appointment when you book and we will help you plan the timing.
