Eyelash Extensions FAQ's

At our spa, we frequently receive inquiries about lash services. If you have any questions that are not addressed here, please don't hesitate to contact us through a phone call, or text. We're always happy to assist you!

Q. How long do Lash Extensions last for?

A: Semi-Permanent lash extensions can last indefinitely if maintained properly. To maintain them, we recommend fill-in appointments every 2-4 weeks. Alternatively, you can let them grow out naturally or have them professionally removed. Your natural lashes have a life cycle of 60 to 90 days and are replaced by new ones. As each natural lash is at a different stage of its life cycle, touch-ups replace those that have completed their cycle.

Q. What are semi-permanent eyelash extensions?

A: Semi-permanent lash extensions are artificial lashes made of synthetic or mink material, curved to imitate the look of natural lashes. Our spa provides a variety of options for lash extensions, including different lengths, curves, thicknesses, and colors to suit your preferences.

Q: Is it safe to get eyelash extensions?

A: The safety of eyelash extensions depends on the adhesive used. At Vanilla Sugar, we use an adhesive that contains the same ingredient used by plastic surgeons in the US for wound closure. Although the adhesive comes in close proximity to the skin, we never apply it directly to the eyelids. Getting lash extensions is a pain-free process and will not cause harm to your eyes or natural lashes.

Q: How are lash extensions applied?

A: At our spa, you can recline on our comfortable memory foam beds, close your eyes and let our lash stylist meticulously apply individual lash extensions to your natural lashes, one by one. We use a medical-grade adhesive that is safe for your eyes and lashes.

Q: How should I prepare for my lash treatment?

A: It's crucial to properly prepare before your lash service. Here are some tips: refrain from curling your lashes or applying any mascara, remove contact lenses and clean your lashes thoroughly with a mild, water-based cleanser. It's important that both your lashes and eyelids are completely clean and dry. Avoid using any creams near your eyes on the day of the treatment, as oils from the creams can spread to your lashes and interfere with the adhesion process.

Q: Is it okay to wear mascara with lash extensions?

A: While the main advantage of lash extensions is that they eliminate the need for mascara, some clients may still choose to wear it. However, it's important to avoid using waterproof or oil-based mascara, as these can break down the adhesive and cause premature lash loss.

Q. How do I care of eyelash extensions?

A: To take care of your eyelash extensions, you should avoid getting them wet for the first 24 to 48 hours after application. After that, you can gently clean them with an oil-free cleanser and a soft brush or applicator. Avoid using cotton pads or swabs, as the fibers can get caught in the extensions.

Additionally, be gentle with your lashes and avoid rubbing or pulling them. Avoid using oil-based products on or near your lashes, as this can weaken the adhesive and cause the extensions to fall out prematurely. Finally, try to avoid sleeping on your stomach or with your face pressed against a pillow, as this can cause your lashes to become tangled or misshapen.

LASHES DISCLAIMER & GUARANTEE

Vanilla Sugar Face & Body, LLC would like to inform you that certain medical conditions and medications can cause hair and lash thinning or loss, which may affect lash retention. We cannot predict every individual situation, as each case is unique. We use various professional, medical-grade adhesives, and if one product does not work well, we will try another to improve lash retention. It is natural for clients to shed 1-3 natural lashes per day, and if an extension is attached to a shedding lash, it is normal. Shedding can occur on the same day of an application. For semi-permanent or volume lashes, clients should have 50% of their extensions remaining at the time of a fill-in. Allergic reactions can develop at any time, so if you suspect an allergy to any of the products used, please inform us immediately so that the lashes can be removed professionally. We advise you to seek assistance from a doctor in case of an allergic reaction.

IF CLIENT NOTIFIES US DIRECTLY WITHIN 1-2 DAYS AFTER A LASH APPLICATION OF LASH RETENTION ISSUES, WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO PROVIDE A LASH FIX ASAP. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT LASH CARE BY THE CLIENT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT AND WILL BE ASSESSED TO DETERMINE IF A LASH FIX IS WARRANTED.
